vMac, or the Virtual Macintosh Project is a project which aims to :
The vMac project develops vMac, which is a semi-finished hardware emulation of an Apple Macintosh Plus.
This is a test development to see how viable a hardware emulation is. So far, it is largely sucessful and is proving to be quite compatible despite the lack of some key hardware emulation sections and a lot of bugs. Since a lot of the code is largely based on experiments done by Philip Cummins (PC) the architecture of the current vMac code is largely fixed and inflexible.
The purpose of this document is to rectify the problem by providing information for users to integrat vmac in there systems.
Currently System 7.5.5 is the latest vMac can boot, which is the latest System a real MacPlus can boot. vMac runs in black an white, a larger screen and color is the next thing we are working on. That's right, vMac currently works and boots! All you need is a ROM image from a MacPlus (utilities and directions provided), or a MacPlus ROM set on a Gemulator ROM board (for Windows and UNIX ports) from Emulators Inc. and your Windows, DOS, UNIX, OS/2, or NeXT machine can run vMac!
vMac is an open sourse implementing off Mac emulator
You can use vMac with many operation systems, like MS Windows, Mac system 9 and X, Linux etc.
On vMac emulator you can run old Mac apps. And vMac is mutch faster than an original Mac Plus.
The screen original was 512x342 and in the 80's it was computer King
